TERRIFIC HOSTS

While on GSE participants are expected to live with host families, this allows us to get to know Rotarians better, have great people to take care of us. More importantly it allows us to be ambassadors for our countries, districts and rotary even into the wee hours of the morning lol.

MEET OUR WONDERFUL ROTARY FAMILIES

 Dr Jim and Nancy Boston
My first host family was Dr Jim and Nancy Boston and their beautiful dog Jake (My first canine friend). They live in the beautiful community of Rivers Edge in Brunswick county. These two beautiful people embody the spirit of Rotary; they were willing to open their homes to GSE members three years in a row. Nancy is an active member of the Shallotte Rotary club and was busy trying to get a water project in El Salvador off the ground, they also volunteer in El Salvador in a medical clinic. What is extra special about this beautiful couple is that they were extremely kind and generous to me making sure I was on time for meetings well fed and comfortable. Thank you Jim and Nancy tell Jake I say hi.

Sahsa and I stayed with Marty and Charlie Prickitt.  Charlie is a member of the Wilmington East Rotary club however they are both Paul Harris fellows.  This couple is very dynamic and sassy and accepted us into their homes unconditionally.  Their love for each other and their four daughters and grandchildren is evident.  Thanks Marty, thanks Charlie.  See you in Barbados and Antigua

My Fayetteville Rotary Family, Arleen Myers Fields and her wonderful son Isaac. Arleen is a former GSE team member who visited India in 2008, she is now a Rotarian.  We had a great time sharing GSE stories.  One of the highlights of my short stay with her however was reading Isaac his Scooby-Doo bedtime story, he is a great little guy.  Thanks Arleen, thanks Isaac.
